SunNutrition’s journey began in 2007 at the Raw Spirit Festival in Sedona, AZ, where our founders Nick Stern and Denley Fowlke met. Both had a passion for health, longevity, fitness, and whole food nutrition. After some thought-provoking conversations, they felt that there was a strong need for plant-based protein. A year later in 2008, they developed one of the most trusted brands of plant-based protein and supplements with worldwide distribution, which continues to thrive.
Nick has been a competitive athlete since the 1970’s, and was shocked when he developed a blood clot and was more surprised to learn that it was a common occurrence, even among world class athletes. He was prescribed blood thinners, but in a short time experienced severe side effects. He pursued a holistic approach and began to study the benefits of systemic enzymes, especially Dr. William Wong’s work. Dr. Wong reported the correlation of systemic enzymes and their relation to dissolving blood clots. This was immediately intriguing and launched Nick’s research and self-experimentation, he was amazed at the results.
