Gebruder Teichmann (German for Brothers Teichmann), are real-life brothers/DJs Andi and Hannes Teichmann. Specialists of the funky and minimal end of tech-house, their album, THE NUMBER OF THE BEAT, perfects low-slung distortion and acid-tinged discord with equal aplomb. Deploying an arsenal of pile-driving synth sequences like battering rams against charging martial rhythms, their vigorous, fresh take on acid house shows that there’s still some life left in the tried and tested club rhythms of old.
