Since the release of their debut EP Ocean in 2023, this young Berlin-based trio have made a name for themselves at the forefront of Europe’s electro nu-jazz scene. With their raw, infectious energy, they’ve brought their organic sound to festivals worldwide and captivated audiences through a series of live sessions, widely shared on social media. Now, with their first studio album MYT, Moses Yoofee on keyboards, Roman Klobe-Baranga on bass, and Noah Fürbringer on drums, have epitomized the full scope of their sonic universe across 13 original tracks. Blending an eclectic mix of genres, their polymorphous, explosive, kaleidoscopic sound defies categorization, while also remaining highly topical to its time.
Their signature style weaves hypnotic, minimalist piano motifs into a richly textured shimmering soundscape, layering ornate keys and intricate organic polyrhythms that pulse with both incredible precision and raw energy. The Moses Yoofee Trio crafts a highly personal synthesis, drawing inspiration from the experimental hip-hop of J Dilla and Madlib, the new jazz ‘fusions’ of Robert Glasper and Yussef Dayes, and the more experimental aspects of avant-garde electro-pop.
